In 2000, after having worked with the RE532 for more than 5 years,
KK
Data took over the service, maintenance and further
development of the RE532, now KK532.
KK532 RDS encoder
The KK532 is intended for the transmission of RDS data
signals according to both European and American
standards. All specified groups of data in these
standards can be transmitted.
The KK532 has incorporated new auxiliary RDS/RBDS data services such
as Paging, TMC and Differential Global Positioning
(DGPS) transmissions on the RDS/RBDS sub-carrier.
All
the features of the KK532 can be controlled via the
RS-232 terminal interface or the via the Internet if
the Internet Option KK332 is installed. For enhanced operation
convenience, the KK532 includes the RE command
interpreter, the UECP (EBU) protocol and the
Pflichtenheft protocol (Leitungsprotokoll).
A subset
of the features can be controlled from the remote
control port. In addition, the AUX port provides the
broadcaster with indication of status and alarms.
Two
modes provide flexibility for typical FM signal chain
operations, whether the KK532 operates as a subcarrier
source or as an in-line, composite loop-through adder.
The adjustment of phase between pilot and RDS/RBDS
subcarrier is easily and precisely done thanks to
RDS/RBDS signal generation by a Digital Signal
Processor (DSP).
The KK532 has a built-in real-time
clock, which can be synchronised with an external
clock, such as an atomic clock reference (Leitch clock
interface or DCF77).
